Coccinia abyssinica A tuberous cucurbit,grown in the Ethiopian highlands by the Oromo people. It can be grown from seed annually, or the tubers may be replanted.The flesh is mild and tasty, comparable with potato. The leaves are also edible as greens. It is drought resistant, and doesn’t seem to be bothered by pests.
