Ailsa Craig Onion

Allium cepa

An 1887 variety bred by David Murray. A large, mild, and sweet onion with golden skin and a round bottom. Sow in early spring and transplant 20cm apart, as soon as plants are big enough to handle. Young plants can be used as spring onions. Harvest mature onions when tops dry back and cure in a warm dry place, then store in a cool dry place.
