Brassica rapa var. niposinica This Japanese vegetable has strap-like leaves that can be used for salads or cooked. Mibuna can be planted in early spring for early leaves but is probably most useful sown in late summer for a winter crop as it is pretty hardy. It tends to bolt in hot weather. It also makes nice micro greens or tiny salad leaves which can be grown on a windowsill.

I had never come across Mibuna but this year have grown outside and now in the greenhouse. It is amazing! Cut and come again within a few short weeks of sowing, it is tasty, productive and great in salads.
